15 teams arrived at the Power Plant ramp at Peach bottom on Saturday, August 30 for the 3rd PAYCHECK Conowingo tournament of the season presented by North Harford Collision Center.
The water level was high in preparation for the Labor Day holiday weekend so there was little chance of seeing it drop throughout the tournament day. One other major factor was the strong wind that kicked up shortly after blast-off causing many teams to alter their preconceived game plan.
Regardless, with the caliber of anglers competing in this tournament it is a given fact that some quality fish would be caught.
Troy Davis and Paul Grove produced a limit that weighed 9.76 pounds and finished just out of the money in 4th place. They were awarded a gift certificate courtesy of North Harford Collision Center.
Buz Billings and Lil’ Buz Billings, fishing for Team North Harford Collision Center finished in 3rd place with a fine mixed bag that weighed 12.69 pounds and also included the big bass of the tournament. That lunker largemouth weighed 4.52 pounds giving Buz and Buz 3 plaques and $465 in cash!
Jeremy Vanover and Corey Culver finished just ahead of Buz and Buz with 12.74 pounds to finish second.
They also received plaques and $700 in prize money, $600 for 2nd place, $80 for 2nd place Option Pot and a $20 bonus for having the heaviest smallmouth.
With a strong limit of quality smallmouth Terry Holt and Justin Martin were declared winners thanks to their limit that weighed 13.08 pounds. In addition to plaques they also won a total of $1290 in total prize money including 1st place Option Pot. Congratulations!
