What a beautiful Good Friday we were blessed with on the Upper Bay on Friday. A little light rain, very little wind, and warm temperatures. What could be better? Oh…maybe a bass or two biting?
10 teams showed up and thanks to the weather reporters we probably lost a bunch of teams as they were predicting some pretty severe stuff which never materialized. It was a very comfortable day to be fishing. Water temps in some areas were 50 degrees or better.
Ken McGill and Jason McDonald also dropped 2 on the scale but that combined weight was 8.47 lbs, thanks to the tournament lunker that weighed a whopping 6.10 pounds. They received $100 in cash!
Steve Bowman and Dave Kilby finished 3rd with 16.36 pounds. They caught all of their bass on a variety of Strike King product including hard baits and soft plastics.
John Vanore and Dave Wilder paired up to finish 2nd with a giant limit that lowered the scale to 21.68 pounds. That’s a great weight to start the year off. They pocketed $220 for 2nd place.
Mike Sentore and Matt Novack also laid a big sack of bass on the scale and everyone knew it was going to be close. Their final weight was 22.90…enough to seal the deal. They took home $600 in green cash.
The PAYCHECK Tournament Series gets into full swing this month with the Potomac opener Saturday, April 11.
