Just 1 week after winning the PAYCHECK Conowingo Working Man’s Open Tournament Sean Peddicord and Greg Burdick teamed up to win the final PAYCHECK Conowingo tournament on October 5th out of Glen Cove Marina.
Nine teams entered this tournament and were treated to some very hot weather especially for October. Overcast skies in the morning gave way to sunny, calm, and extremely hot temperatures during most of the tournament hours.
The field was stacked with pretty stout teams all in search of the inning combination of large and smallmouth bass to claim the winner-take-all purse. One more team was needed to pay 2 places.
Mike Farren and Jim Albrand finished in 5th with 1 chunky smallmouth and 2 largemout that weighed 5.11 pounds. Nice job!
Dan Kardash and Marty Baked weighed in 4 bass today but one of their largemouth was the big bass of the tournament which weighed 4.48 pounds and earned them $90. They finished in 4th.
Dave Kovack and Mike Stephens had a beautiful limit of smallmouth that weighed 11.98 pounds, good for 3rd place. Dave has had a successful career competing as a co-angler in several of the larger professional tournaments.
JT Lang shared the boat with PAYCHECK Tournament Series founder Dave Kilby who is still unable to fish much these days but he enjoyed watching JT catch fish. JT is the new PAYCHECK Eastern Shore Director and was spending his first day on Conowingo. It didn’t take him long to figure it out, though and this team finished second with 12.61 pounds. They received 2nd place Option Pot money totaling $55.
As mentioned, Sean Peddicord and Greg Burdick have been on a roll of their own as of late scoring PAYCHECK Conowingo victories on consecutive weekends. They caught about 20 bass and culled several times to achieve their total weight of 13.95 pounds. They were presented with $1375 in prize money including option pot. Congratulations!
Look for the PAYCHECK Conowingo Division to return in 2014!
