Well, the 2015 PAYCHECK Friday Series sponsored by Southern York Motors finally got underway on May 15th at Anchor Marina. A stellar field of 32 of the top teams in the area were in attendance as this Friday series continues to grow.
The bass fishing on the Upper Bay recently has been as unpredictable as the weather and today was no exception. Lots of teams reported losing big bass so who knows what’s up with that?
With a 1-in-4 payback format 8 teams were destined to receive checks today. That 8th place team was Mike Sentore and Jack Rinkers with a limit that weighed 16.45 pounds earning them $180.
7th place belonged to John Hart and Ed Pribish, veterans of the Friday trail with 16.89 pounds. They received $200 for their efforts.
Landing in 6th place today were John Detwiler and rising young star Justin Harant with 17.75 pounds. They pocketed $250 in cash.
5th place finishers today were Bill McDermott and Marcus Griffin with a limit that totaled 17.80 pounds, good for $420.
4th place prize money worth $400 went to Tommy “TT” Turner and Jim Waller with a solid limit that weighed 19.78 pounds.
Duane Essick and Jay Pirollo mustered up the big bass of the tournament en route to a 3rd place finish. That 6.44 pound largemouth helped increase their final weight to 20.34 pounds…just a few ounces shy of the top weight. They won $600 for 3rd plus another $320 for lunker for a total of $920 in winnings. Add 3 more plaques to the wall, too!
Claiming 2nd place today were Harry Nurk and Calvin Schwenk. Their 5 bass weighed 20.34 pounds…just a hair ahead of Duane and Jay. They received plaques and $1010 including Option Pot.
John Vanore and Dave Wilder squeaked out a victory today with 29.59 pounds. whether it’s tight like this one or a blowout a win is a win. They received a total of $1810 including Option Pot. Nice job!
