The first of two PAYCHECK Lunkers for Loot tournament was held at a very busy Anchor Marina on Saturday, November 2 with 18 teams on hand. Each of these teams were only allowed to bring in 1 bass in this unique tournament format.
All of the anglers were required to return to the Nauti Goose docks at 3:00PM to weigh in their big bass. There was a lot of money on the line with only 3 places being paid and a 90% payback. All 18 teams elected to enter the Option Pot which was paid back 100% to the 4th and 5th place teams.
It was a truly strange caliber of fish that were place on the scale today. The bass that had the overall larger profile were skinnier in the belly where it counts like they haven’t been eating for the winter yet. The smaller, but still stout bass seemed to be fatter overall.
Gary Bailey and Dan Kuczinski finished just out of the money on this beautiful autumn day with a fat largemouth that weighed 4.06 pounds.
Thanks to the Option Pot Dave Seemans and Davey Seemans claimed the last pay spot winning $160 for a nice 4.24 pound bass.
JT Lang and Chris Lang continued their big bass winnings this fall by landing a 4.31 fish that paid them $200 for 4th place.
Finishing in 3rd place and winning $325 and a beautiful trophy were John Knee and Tom Knee. Their lunker went 4.57 pounds.
Second place went to the team of Ed Donnelly and Rich Byrne, whose 4.85 largemouth also gave them a trophy and a cash prize of $975.
Jerry Ashby and Paul Brown were the big winners of the PAYCHECK Lunkers for Loot tournament with the big bass of the tournament that weighed 5.26 pounds. They were presented a trophy and a whopping $1940 in prize money.
