Marshall Hall was a busy place on Saturday, June 7th as no less than 4 small tournaments launched there. Smallwood State Park was closed to public launching as the Paralyzed Veteran’s Association tournament was there for the weekend.
Five teams entered this even which featured a 90% payback at the ramp. With a 1-in-4 payout this was a winner-take-all tournament.
Although a beautiful day to be on the Potomac, the big largemouth were pretty stingy. Most of the teams reported catching several large catfish, however causing them to wish this was a whicker tournament instead.
Steve Seen and Tony Ebel finished in 3rd place with 13.21 pounds. They received 2 nice plaques.
Mark Knapp and Frank Karl caught over 30 bass today and missed one giant bass, but still weighed in 5 bass totaling 13.97 pounds to finish second. The received plaques and $25 in Option Pot money.
Pennsylvania’s Dan Eckard and Chris Huffer also weighed in 5 bass, and their 4.27 pound lunker made the difference as they won the tournament with 14.13 pounds. They were awarded 3 plaques and a total of $785 in prize money. Congratulations!
Thanks to Lloyd Watkins for assisting with today’s tournament.
