May 10th saw the 3rd PAYCHECK Potomac tournament of 2015 at Smallwood State Park. Although it was Mother’s Day, a respectable 14 teams were on hand to compete in this tournament. Each team, was encouraged to call their mom’s and wives sometime during the day to wish them a Happy Mother’s Day.
Each team returned safely to the dock and once again, all teams except for one produced a limit. 3 places were to be paid on this day.
Third place belonged to Dave Barker and Tim Legrande with 14.52 pounds. They also had the lunker, a 3.99 pound largemouth, and won $360. They were also presented with 3 plaques.
Second place in this tournament went to Ed Kausmeyer and Mike Godfrey who waited out the tide in one specific area which proved to be a very intelligent decision. They laid 5 bass on the scales that weighed 14.73 pounds and finished just out of the top spot. They received plaques and $650 in cash.
Aaron Hastings and Kevin Waterman stood in disbelief as they were proclaimed winners of this tournament. On a day where lower weights were the norm, none was higher than theirs. Whether 20 pounds or Aaron and Kevin’s 14.81 pounds it doesn’t matter as long as it was the highest weight. They were awarded 2 plaques and $$1240 including Option Pot. Way to go!
The next PAYCHECK Potomac tournament will launch from Smallwood State Park on July 18.
